Competence and capacity building in Occupational health and safety
Lack of occupational health and safety resource are one of the major cause for this increasing trend in developing countries like India.
There is an urgent need to enhance the OHS resources to minimize the work-related injuries and diseases. One of the cornerstone to improving occupational health and safety performance and stimulating practical and effective preventative actions is a network of competent and capable professionals and practitioners.
Worksafe is placing efforts to impart the knowledge, skill and abilities required to perform basic safety and occupational health management functions at workplaces. We train occupational health doctors, nurses, safety officers and volunteers who could bridge the resource gap.
We work closely with Department of Factories,Boilser, Industrial Safety & Health, Regional institute of Occupational Health (south), Unorganised sector board in Karnataka.
